Yakuza games have always gotten meh reviews from western journos.
Hell, I avoided the series for years when I was younger because Game Informer always gave them 6s out of 10. Finally my brother tried them and showed me how fucking great they are, thank God.
Western reviewers don't really see the appeal, usually.

I know that feel. There's a peace I feel when playing. The fact that I'm not being nickle and dimed for content, the game has as much content as the devs intended, and that it doesn't bend over to what the industry says is standard (full VA for everything)
Now, imagine if it was released here three years ago.
Not that I care about reviews, I know exactly what I expected from the game. I honestly expected scores between 7 and 8 from bigger sites, but now that I look at them there are even 9s.
