Nintendo is still the top video game company in the world. Nintendo has the most beloved and iconic games and consoles in video game history. The Wii sold over 100 MILLION units and opened video games to a whole new audience. Even though the Wii U hasn't sold as well, it still sells an amazing amount of games and amiibos. Meanwhile Sony and Microsoft still can't make a profit from their gaming divisions.

To be fair, Sony's other areas have been hugely unprofitable, gaming is one of their top seller these days.

I doubt it. First you cant compare them alone. And they were the difference in profit is only a few 100 million per yer, which is peanuts for investors.
Second playstation department relies on having the bigger departments like banks as back up since it cant survive bad weather as they dont have franchises that are highly valued within the market unlike nintendo, which is the biggest reason why nintendo is so high. Even when gaming on consoles die investors know that a lot of nintendo franchises are still worth the money.
