The more realistic Final Fantasy characters get the more they look like something out of a shitty J-rock band.
Hair is the biggest offender, a silly hair in a more cartoon style feels just whatever, but when they try to put that in a realistic setting it just look likes every character spends 2 hours in front of the bathroom mirror every morning.

Every single one of the Advent Children designs (except for Barret obviously) have slightly asian facial features. Same thing in FFX, remember? It makes sense being that all the characters are fictional and from a fictional world, our concepts of race don't really apply. So SE tends to give everyone a slightly Asian face since that's their core market.

So much time and money spent on Luminous, and it looks great, but it's almost as if its so closely tied to FFXV they either don't want to use it for anything else, or CAN'T use it until FFXV is done, probably because the engine itself isn't "done" (still loaded with bugs) or something.
