Love my Wii U. Got excited and bought it at lunch (dumb) and was worried for a while. But it's really turned into a great system.
Though, having a good PC greatly helps with the shoddy 3rd party issue.

In that list, it has one game worth looking at, and Bayo 2 is just nowhere near enough to carry an entire console. I thought X would be alright, but the more trailers that got released, the less I was interested. Turns out it's just a no-life neet mmo simulator. No thank you.
I will pick up a WiiU for the same reason I got a Wii. A novelty gimmick system that has homebrew on it. When I can pirate any WiiU, Wii and Gamecube game and install some emulators on it, it will be worth slightly more than the empty space it uses up.

Yes, but it is collecting dust for the past few months. The last game I bought was Monster Hunter Tri in February and I only put about 15 hours into it.
I'll buy Xenoblade Chronicles in the eshop soon though and likely follow up with X.

Those will suit you fine for a while. I also recommend DK:TF, Mario Maker, and Yoshi if you like platformers. SM3DW is good both alone and with friends. I got bored with Splatoon fast, but it was still pretty good.
