I love this gun.
Not just because it's fun to use since it's essentially playing an Arena shooter in CS land
But it just shows the hypocrisy that CS:GO players hate accurate weapons yet say the game takes skill.
If this gun did less damage but could still one shot on head or two to even three shot on body, they would still bitch.

And yet one of the things everybody hates about the update is that it made the main guns less accurate and slower to recover. People have been asking for the AK/M4 to be even more accurate for a long time now.

Shit's hilarious. A more powerful version of the 1.6 deagle.
Balanced for competitive? Technically, both sides can purchase it, so whatever. The deagle isn't as powerful as it once was, so replacing it with the R8 isn't a huge problem. It definitely changes the pistol rounds entirely, though.
It'll be interesting to see how it plays out in tournaments, but I don't think the low capacity and speed will stop 2 CTs from shutting down 5-man tec9/glock pushes, which sort of shits up certain maps.

The economy was (and still is, even if to a lesser extend) one of CS:GO's trademark features and includes a slew of tactical choices, such as eco rounds and force buys, defines available weaponry on a round-by-round basis (should I buy the more expensive weapon but skip on grenades/kit?) and helps balance the T vs CT as the former is expected to suffer casualties while storming a site and is thus rewarded with cheaper/powerful guns and extra money (on successful bomb plant, even if it's the defused and the T's lose, they still get +$800 each).
Somehow you interpret marginalising above options as "challenging the meta". It's not, it's cheapening the game. Don't get me wrong, the gun is hilarious and, as someone who has good aim but was never too good with controlling the inaccuracy (because I tend to move a lot), helps me out big time, I still think in the long run it'll do more harm to the game. At the very least they have to get rid of the ridiculous on the move accuracy.

It doesn't necessarily cheapen the game because nobody knows for certain how this gun will play out in actual matches. The feedback is mostly from people who play ranked and whatever else, which is filled with people who are shit at the game and have zero concept of how to actually do things, and instead, do things based around what high level players do, without thinking a single thought as to why they do it, let alone understanding the connotations of doing it in the first place. Even if you are at the top of the ladder you are still shit. That is why you and the chumps you play with aren't invited to tournaments. Your input is also shit.
People thought the same thing about the CZ75, Tec-9 and molotovs/incendiaries, that they would ruin the game. And yeah, the CZ and molotovs got nerfs, but it wasn't knee-jerk. It took a very long time for them to touch them. And the reason they were added in the first place was specifically to force change in a well-established metagame. Nobody wants to watch the same matches play out for a decade. They were good additions. The R8 in it's current form might be broken and destroy competitive and make it unwatchable. It might not. We don't know yet.

Thats right you dont play CS. The way movement works is that when you tap the opposite movement direction or change direction you are fully accurate for a split second. This gives the game depth and rewards skill. The R8 is 100% run and gun.

There is only one pro that has said anything good about this update and he's a faggot who praises every update. Even then, he didn't say anything about the update itself but just that he's happy they are changing things. Literally every single other pro has said it's fucking horrible, they've said the devs must be high, they've joked about retiring, they've claimed that Valve is going to turn CS into a crappy CoD clone, they've all but called the devs retards, they've agreed to not use the R8 in pro matches, they've agreed to not use it in pro pugs, and they literally thought the devs were fucking joking when they brought it up while dreading when their other horrible ideas get put in. The feedback from not just people who are shit at the game, but at almost every level of the community that cares enough to go online and talk about it, is almost unanimous hatred of the update and lack of faith in Valve.

That's because Valve has very little idea what it's doing, literally outright ignores everything the community (including pros) tell them, and almost every update fucks something up unintentionally while fucking up something intentionally. The hitbox update was praised and was one of the few updates that didn't screw with something, but even it introduced a fair few bugs and killed a bunch of people's FPS. I believe it also caused a lot of issues with community servers.
There are many basic improvements that could be made to the game, suggestions that the community has outlined time and time again, that are ignored in favor of trying to force more RNG and the meta that Valve wants rather than a meta that the playerbase actually enjoys. Also, just because one game can benefit from a constantly shifting meta and has a playerbase that enjoys it, doesn't mean that another game benefits from it or that it's playerbase is wrong for not wanting it to change.
