I liked Ni No Kuni's art style but I cannot, for the life of me, get into JRPGs and the grinding that coems along with them.
Still, beautiful game with an amazing soundtrack.

It is not about memeing, it is just strange, that there are almost no main female protagonists even though the main protagonist is always completely bland in most JRPG. That's pretty much why P3P female storyline could be done.
If you remove Parasite Eve and Valkyrie Profile, there's not many JRPG actually using female characters.
A game like Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana (it was fixed then with Seiken Densetsu 3 and the Legend of Mana giving you the choice between characters.)
