If I'm bad at a game, and it's boring, I'm not going to continue playing it just because I'm bad at it. I'm going to stop playing it because it's boring; It's not something worth getting good at.
For example. I've been trying to clear the challenge wall on Smash 4. I looked up which things I should use my hammers on, and I happened to come across a gamefaqs thread, where a guy said that using the hammers was cheap and doesn't count as a true 100% and shit like that. Well, you can only hammer 5 of the 140 challenges. And some of them are literally just RNG based, yet take hours to complete. I simply don't feel the need to accept such a ridiculous challenge; something that I don't feel is hard, I don't think is fun, I don't find interesting. Something that simply requires luck and / or time wasting is just something that I'm not interested in.
Scrubs just think they will look cool if they act like they accept every single challenge. You become a true pro when you can honestly refuse a challenge for simply being beneath you, and it isn't a cop-out of any sort; you're not using it as an excuse to avoid the challenge or something, it is something that is genuinely not worth your time. I mean, am I bad, when I beat classic level 9 without losing a life, but I used a hammer for "bump into every player in Smash tour"? Because apparently, that's something that I was too unskilled to do, yeah ok. Just because they are both challenges on the wall does not mean they are equally worthy challenges.
