I have the sound fix, I installed it before i even launched the game. It fixed the sound issues for my friend who's playing mp on his laptop just fine.
I can't launch the game at all, I get the launcher but as soon as i click "play" i get a black screen and that's it. I also tried shit people suggested like turning off aa and different resolutions too but nothing helped. I bought it on Steam, i figured it would work right off the bat

These old games come preinstalled with the latest patches, mp is v1.05 i think. Sometimes you have to fuck around a bit (i remember having issues with Disciples ii and of course dark souls) but I haven't bought a game i just couldn't start at all.
I don't want to emulate the ps2 version. At least i got my refund, I'll try it again with a torrent on the weekend
