Legendary solo in every other Halo was a total grind with almost no enjoyment, and don't try and argue that because Legendary was intentionally meant to be total bullshit. I can now atleast enjoy the damn campagin, and yes I have died a little under 100 times so far in the campaign (complete death, not just downed).
Also, buying MCC made me realise just how shit the older halo campaigns were. Before MCC, I thought they were pretty good, but once you can actually compare them, it's no contest. Halo 1 and 2 had HORRIFIC campaigns. Halo 1 would literally copy/paste levels several times. Halo 5's levels are probably some of the most diverse and aesthetically appealing in the series.

The same map is duplicated (Midship) twice, so there's little to no variety in gameplay options.
There isn't a single memorable character in the game. Halo 4 was praised for its "amazing" story. Why? It shoe-horned in Cortanas "rampancy"? Did it develop it beyond the fact she was not "well"? No.
Instead it had it flung in for ratings, there was not a single aspect of it which was implemented with any grace or substance.
So, instead of keeping at that mediocre level, they drop further by bringing her back as a "villain", in direct opposition to the shoe-horned cast of the seemingly newly improvised "Infinity" (Which should not exist), and its unmemorable crew.
It is Halo 4, the gameplay and the engine are the EXACT FUCKING SAME. The ridiculous aim-assist? The same, the lack of any creativity or attention put into map and level design, The same. The emotionless blank slate characters with absolutely nothing going for them? The same.
Did I mention you now play as a black man for most of the game rather than Chief? That is a direct result of having a female majority in a company.
The villain, Jul Mdama, that they hyped up in Halo 4 was killed offscreen without any impact in a 30 second cutscene, making it completely pointless to implement him as a character.
