EA is experiencing some significant backlash
>>
>>319557956
What did they do this time?
>>
Should I buy EA stock?
>>
You idiots know nothing about the stock market.
>>
they'll just blame it on "toxic gamers"
>>
>>319558408
Hey, it happened to Konami. Dunno if their stocks went back up though.
>>
Good old /v/conomics.

Remember when Sony couldn't afford to make a PS4 and that they would be dead anyday?

EA is fine. -4 points is nothing.

These faggots won't die any time soon.
>>
>>319558321
it's not such a significant loss, you could make money on it if you had a large amount of money to spend, but really who would even want stock in EA?
>>
>>319557956
Time to buy! I mean seriously, remember 2012 /v/? When you all told me that EA was going to die? Patcher told me to buy EA stock and I made a killing because of it, keep being children with your videogames and leave stock to people that know something about it.
>>
>>319558891
Someone that isn't retarded? I mean EA has been outperforming the market for the last 3 years by a large margin, the same goes for Activision to a leaser extend.

funny enough the moment when I lost all interest in battlefront was when they made us all play as female characters during the beta.
(not as if I liked the game before that but it helped letting star wars go)

A few dollars to investors. Stop hyping this and complain about FF7 more.

This is what EA gets for killing LucasArts.

so eas stock has gone from like 10 dollars to 60 in 4 years. Why the fuck is this? They literally pump out the same games every year. I own 35k of stocks myself but I still have no idea how to explain this

4% is not "significant backlash" compared to the time where they were basically going to go bankrupt.
>>
>Recently, Gamestop suggested that sales of Star Wars: Battlefront fell “short of expectations”, which may have been true for the brick and mortar store chain but EA’s Peter Moore claims that from the publisher’s view, Battlefront is far from the sales flop that some are currently suggesting, though exact sales figures are still not being revealed.

Almost all of my tech stocks are dipping today.

Its not just EA. And it certainly doesn't mean that they'll hurt at all from this; tech stocks fluctuate all the time and dont even correlate with product launches or sales most of the time.
>>
>teenagers discussing short trends like this on the stock market as if it means anything significant

Nope.jpg

Look at their stock prices over the last 10 years, they're doing better than ever
>>
>>319559571
If you want a real answer here it comes. Is the digital side of their business. EA makes shit ton of money by selling digital goods (DLC) in games like FIFA and Madden. The mode is called Ultimate Team and it basically is the most popular mode of their most popular games and is ridden with microtransactions and addiction like you would get in a Casino. Since 2011 this modes have become more and more popular first on FIFA, then on Madden then on NHL and now even in UFC 2.

That is basically it, also EA shifted their sales strategy to be less focused on the retail sector and encourage digital sales globally.

Battlefront's bad publicity especially regarding their blatant bribery in exchange for tons of rave reviews on an extremely mediocre game rushed out by Disney+EA to generate lots of money very quickly in the hype leading up to Episode VII. They wanted a level of hype comparable to Episode I and have been on a marketing BLITZKRIEG even paying Jontron tons of money to shill Star Wars, COLLECTIBLE CUPS! COLLECTIBLE CEREAL! No it isn't. EA stock has been wavering between 65 and 75 for the last three months, and that's a great improvement over where it was six months ago.

Looking at a single day's price shift on the stock market is fucking retarded.
>>
>>319559926
Why people think garbage games like Mass Effect of or any other hardcore game matters in the stock market? EA business is driven by DLC, get over it. They don't give a shit about core games and they basically sell them to see if something sticks and then sell DLC based on that.

I have no idea how finances work.

Does this chart mean if I bought stock from EA in mid 2012 when it was <10 by mid 2015 when it was >70 I would have multiplied my inversion more than 7 times? Would I be able to sell the stock as easily or do you have to wait for someone to buy it?

>it's easy to own a company
This.

In fact, it is actually the smartest choice in ~97% of cases. If you have a 'Sole Proprietorship' ("Dan's Corner Store" or some shit like that), you have UNLIMITED PERSONAL LIABILITY for the debts of the store.

INCORPORATING will cost you a couple hundred bucks at first, maybe ~70 a year, and presto - your bank account is legally separate from your company's.

Most people don't do it because they're too lazy and/or stupid, but it's definitely the smartest way to do it. It's basically buying insurance to not have your life ruined.

What, you mean with Keynesianism? Not at all, the school I went to even has an award named the Hayek prize they give out for the top econ students.

I had one professor that was garbage, but I laughed in his face, dropped the class, and made it up in an 8 week course the second half of that semester.
