Let me explain this to you.
Nintendo differs a lot from other companies in that instead of focusing on short-term profits, like pretty much EVERY fucking publisher does, they focus on long-term ones.
This is why Nintendo games generally are more polished than games like Battlefield or others that comes out riddled with bugs due to the publishers being forced to rush it out in favour of maximizing short-term profits.
That's not to say that Nintendo games are completely bug free or always that great, but they do want to make sure that the games are good so that the game keeps trickling in money over a long period of time. Hence why they don't lower the price.

Nintendo prices never drop and thats a good thing. Just think about it: You can buy every game on release from Nintendo between 35-45 bucks.
The price will not drop until the new console is released.
Now buy a game on PS4/One you pay atleast 55-65 bucks for one game that is going to drop to less than 20 bucks in 1+ year.
On Pc you pay 25-35 for a new game but the price will get even lower and hit the 5 bucks section in less than 3 years.
You lose 40 bucks on Ps4/One, 30 on Pc but the price for your Wii U game will not drop.
You can rsell it for the same price you bought it.
