>Join the mages guild, create a spell that drains health 100 for 1 second
>Optionally, create a "damage 1 health on self" spell and practice destruction magic until you can reasonably cast the above spell without failing.
Optionally if you cant stand the walking speed
>Follow the roads to the north west until you find a redguard woman, kill her and get the boots of blinding speed
>Create a spell that is "Magicka resistance 100 for 1 second"
>cast the spell then instantly put on the boots

Oblivion had awesomely deep quests and sub plots, perhaps some of the best in the series though Morrowind fags will disagree because "muh nostalgia" and "muh elves r kewl tho."
Not saying I didn't like Morrowind but Oblivion tends to not get the recognition it deserves in the quest/plots area of game direction.
And yeah, Skyrim has shallow quests but the best combat gameplay. For me Skyrim is more of an action game and its pretty good if you take it that way.

Except it's not a pretty good action games. The movesets are nonexistent, it's as visceral as a piece of cardboard and it's so fucking slow as the icing on the cake.
Compare it to Shadow Warrior, Rise of the Triads, Zeno Clash 2 or fucking Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Nothing about its gameplay is remotely good. And I tried. I tried needlessly spicing up the gameplay with hotkeys (useless, it takes 5 seconds to switch weapons) and using every combination I could. It plays like shit.
It's a shit RPG, a shit aRPG and a shit action game. All it's good at is appeasing the casuals.

It appealed to me, but I've always hated how all melee felt, and the lack of variety of spells.
Shadow Warrior didn't feel good either. Very very few video games feel "right" when it comes to movement and satisfaction from combat.
Games always scale, so there's no purpose.

>Use your thunder II spell: 10 damage. Deals 8 damage to the new mobs with defense. Takes 3 hits to kill.
You can replace "Thunder" with any offensive given to you in any video game. When the variation exists solely in names and theatrics, there's no satisfaction gained. What's the alternative? I don't know, but what exists now is shit and hasn't changed.
