everything in this game is satisfying

The best moment in videogames is seeing Fina join in on Vyse and Aika's celebratory pose after retrieving one of the moon crystals.

Not a single moment, but Banjo Kazooie and Tooie have extremely satisfying ITEM GETs. Everything in these games feels so fucking good to collect, especially notes and jiggies.

SNES.

THIS, except to be honest in Windwaker when you have to literally travel all the way through time, underwater, and get the Master Sword, it is amazing. The look on his face is like, "I did it." Then you literally have to recharge the power in the sword and each time it changes shape. It's pretty awesome honestly.
>>
>>319483148
Both are fine, but SNES is easily the superior version. The only thing the GBA version has over the original is Four Swords, which isn't mind-blowing.
>>

>tfw the jigg in rusty bucket bay where you have to deactivate the rotors outside the ship

FUCK

OT: La mulana has some really satisfying item gets.

>>319483042
Notes are shit, and cause an enormous amount of backtracking because, let's face it, you are going to miss some on your first sweep.Oh, and if you die, you lose all of them.

I think you just named the single least satisfying thing to collect in vidya history.

Don't forget, when you pull the sword, and everything goes silent, except for the wind. And then you hear Sahasrahla's voice, tell you about the importance of the moment, and what you must do now that you have the sword.
And for that moment of text, you're just drooling in anticipation.

Master Sword in alttp is probably it.

Getting the slide from chill penguin in mmx is fairly satisfying.

Getting a Garnet in ff9.

Yeah, it's hard to get all the notes, that's what makes them so satisfying to collect, casual.

The Gamecube version is the same game tweaked for the better, and a fair amount of quality additional content. There is a noticeable quality drop in the quality of the music when compared to the DC version, which is a shame, because the music is fantastic, but it's a small price to pay for what is otherwise an all around better experience.

I would actually compare the idea of recommending the DC version of the game to be similar to recommending Starcraft without Broodwar, or XCOM:EU without getting Enemy within. There is no real reason to get the original version.

tldr: get the gamecube version
>>
>>319484513
Oh god it feels so good. Especially in the later games where each upgrade added something small but noticeable to the design.
>>
>>319484991
It's not hard, it's tedious. If you followed a walkthrough, it'd be a fucking breeze. But because you're supposed to play it blind, it seems like a 'challenge.' When really, they'll hide a handful in incredibly obscure locations, and if you die before you find them, fuck you.
>>
Getting Ice and Fire arrows in Wind Waker for myself was amazing because they were my favorite item to use when I first played the game at a friends house.

>dying in BK or BT

Seriously anon? The only part where that is understandable is the engine room in RBB.

>not hard, tedious
The whole point of the game is to explore and collect things. If you find that tedious, I'd think you'd find the whole game boring. Plus it isn't like you need all of the notes in a level to advance.

I couldn't pass the speech check, so I managed to clear out the entire first floor of the complex at Level 6 with a .223 pistol and 25% crit chance.
>>
>>319485581
I remember several levels, especially the bay, that had some really cheap one-shot deaths. It's been years though.

The game is boring on the whole. And of course you have to collect all the notes. There's no other reason to play a collectahon.

Dunno. I was referencing V, but when I googled the pic it was apparently for VIII

I had a MS and LMS join my party in V and I wasn't even trying for it. I have never felt so overpowered in a game before

Having just played Shantae and the Pirate's Curse, the game went from mediocre to fucking amazing after getting the cannon and being able to double jump.

But I'd say the most satisfying item gains I've ever had in past games was Hi Jump Boots in Metroid games, Mirror Shield in Zelda games and Boomerangs in Dragon Quest games.

It was definitely a design flaw that arguably broke the game, but it gives you the absolutely most satisfying feeling when you finally manage to pull it off.

Every time I play the game, I get a King Cureslime and a Great Dragon. Takes a lot of time, but they can basically beat the final boss by themselves. Hell, a Great Dragon alone could kill anything in the game.
>>
>>319487576

>learn of a cheat to time the lightning strikes

I seriously hate myself for completing that game. Possibly the worst side quest content in RPG history. Tied with Hunts in FFXII.

No, DK64 is just masochism.

I did platinum FFX, though.

The first few minutes after you get a gun in Call of Cthulu, it's very satisfying being able to fight back after getting fucked around with for so long. The game as a whole suffers a lot for even having such prominent gunplay though

GREAT DRAGON YES

Him and King Cure were the reason I played the fight just for fun.

Don't forget that Lulu was worthless by then too.

>>319488140
Seriously, it was entirely pointless.
>Tied with Hunts in FFXII.
Eh, only the last two were particularly bad, it's the rare game that were ass.

>>319488551
You have to be truly masochistic for DK64, because you don't feel rewarded for ANYTHING in that game.
>>
>>319488884
But it wasn't as cool.
>>
>>319489130
That's what I'm saying. If you already got it the whole scene just becomes a lame goodbye scene
>>
>>319489056

My problem with hunts is it is just pure busywork. Go to Mog NPC, get hunt quest, go back to an area you've already walked through 50 times until you find that one animal, kill animal, return back to Mog and turn in quest. Now do that 50 more times to get a meaningless prize!

I like when they tie equipment with skills, for example FFIX and Tales of Vesperia.
Makes getting new weapons from a quest or whatever more exciting and meaningful.

I honestly think all of the times you obtain the Master Sword are pretty damn memorable. My favourite time is either be ALTTP or TP. I

If you went back and revisited stages because you were too bad to progress you already had it.

True, some of them were fun though.
The rare game was just utter bullshit though.
