Nothing is wrong with people voting except for the people voting because they want to get people mad.
As for wrong with the game? It has some annoying long hallways with nothing in them and is a bit too linear. There are some puzzles which are too easy and parts where dialogue interrupts the game too much. Plus, due to the amount of dialogue, if someone dislikes a character, that could legitimately kill the game for them. Undertale has quite a few things wrong with it. That doesn't make it bad of course, just imperfect.

I would argue that its much stronger than Pokemon Red/Blue and somewhat stronger as a game than Super Mario World, however that also largely depends on how much you like RPGs and platformers. As I've said elsewhere, if it was up against Pokemon Mystery Dungeon or Heartgold/Soulsilver, saying it is weaker than Pokemon might have more validity, but its against Red/Blue.

Pokemon blue/red is nice and all. But I beat it just as easily as I beat Undertale. All you have to do, is stick with your starter, and use a second pokemon that is effective against the type that's effective against your starter. So if you pick charmander, he's weak to water, so you just get an electric pokemon as your secondary to go against water.
Everything after that is smooth sailing. The game doesn't actually require the player to exercise any strategic ability to beat the game. Anything beyond the main game, is all autistic number crunching meta game, and trading.(LOL good luck finding more than 1 other kid to trade with. And you know he doesn't have anything good)
