as someone who as never played FF7, and generally doesn't like FF, this game actually looks good. The trailer made an impression on me.
FF7, is a refreshing sight, compared to future titles. The characters don't all look like pop stars. The world is gritty and live-in. The voices sounded fine to me. I don't know what everyone's problem is with that. It's still kind of cheesy that Cloud is a waif with a giant sword, taking on guards with guns. But that's the kind of cheese I can handle.
I'm more interested in FF7 than I ever was.

I was old enough to have hypothetically bought and enjoyed FF7 on it's original release. But my family went with an N64 instead of a Playstation. I remember being somewhat interested in FF7 at the time, but never found a way to play it.
A friend had FF8, But it looked stupid, so I didn't get into it. FF9 looked interesting again, but no one had that. Then 10 looked dumb again. 12 caught my attention, but again, no playstation. then 13 looked like shit again. And 15 isn't doing anything for me.
