The gameplay and combat of ME1 is the best in the trilogy. Having all your skills share cooldown was a retarded design choice for ME2, removing the inventory system and neutering skills also contributed to diluted gameplay.

It's a good ride if you want to invest the time. The 1st is the most RPG intense, the 2nd has the best characters, and the 3rd has fun multiplayer.
A quick Google brings up different articles saying "yes/no" about a remaster for the trilogy coming to PS4 before ME4:Andromeda.

And that's not even touching the ending. I sure liked zooming around the galaxy getting chased by reapers in a fucking retarded manner. Great mechanic!
Oh, and how the multiplayer would affect the single player. Wonderful design when it's only designed that way to "enourage" people to play the multi.
That's ignoring squad mate day one DLC with a small team already, moving the explanation of the reapers to DLC and ending the fucking game with "buy our DLC!".

I really tried to like it, but the clunky movement, boring combat and empty areas...idk, it wasn't for me. I've heard great things about it and I can see some of it, but I'm never going to play it again. I laughed when an npc asked me a question, and the dialogue wheel had 3 answers - "1. sure 2. let's go 3. I'm ready" or something like that. What's even the point when it's like that.

They showed you the consequences for your actions throughout the games though, so by the end the player would be expecting them to have a big impact on the ending. The game was also advertised as having choices that matter.
