You can still upgrade parts in a laptop but it is much harder due to soldering, especially in models like Alienwares.
If you have a local PC shop, they might be able to do it for you, depends on the laptop though.

Uh, my story is something like this: My mother put me in school at the second half of the year (school starts at February here) just so I could get used to it, I was supposed to really be at school one year and six months later actually. But by the end of the year I already knew how to read and write while the other kids who were 1.5 years older than me and were there since the beginning of the year couldn't, so the teacher told her to just let me continue normally as it'd be a waste to keep me stuck there.
And that is how I finished high school while 16.
