I've played Starfox 64 every year since it's release and I still haven't unlocked EX difficulty.

This shit triggers me the most out of any other bullshit a dev can pull with the difficulty system.
>Game doesn't ask you for a difficulty you want to play, and instead scales difficulty with how good or bad you're playing while providing extra rewards while on harder difficulty to five the incentive to git gud
>game give xp/gold incentives for playing on a higher difficulty
>monsters don't scale correctly so by playing on said higher difficulty the game actually becomes easier due to over leveling
