Halo CE was a port so terrible that Randy Pitchfork and Gearbox felt bad enough about that to release a mod-friendly version free for everyone to download.
Halo 2 is a straight upgrade to the console version, as long as you play by their rules and use a controller. Also why the fuck can't you download custom maps from a local server when playing over LAN?
