Has anyone else picked up Darius Burst: Chronicle Saviours on Steam? I've put hours into it already and am having a blast. It has everything I want from a Darius game: giant fish robots, tons of stages, and great music.

The fact that the game has both arcade mode (with a 32:9 aspect ratio!) and a remixed 16:9 single-player campaign makes the purchase all that stronger. While the single-player campaign recycles the dozen or so boss fights in appearance, at least they shake up the bullet patterns so things aren't a complete carbon copy of one another. It also has exclusive boss fights.
Sorry for the shilling. This past year has been genre-heaven with Crimzon Clover, Mushihimesama, Strania: The Stella Machina and DariusBurst being released. These last three I thought I would NEVER see on PC.

nah dude, G-Darius was also excellent, but only if you played the arcade-accurate port on one of the Taito Legends collections (PS1 really didn't do the game justice).
This game is good as well. I admit I'm not huge on the 180 turning, but it's not often used outside of the huge boss fights when they are moving around all over the screen.

I wouldn't be surprised to see G.Rev port its entire 360 catalog to Steam. It's not like that 3DS exclusive Kokuga was making bank for them (though I'd like to play Kokuga).

I plan to make it have an upgrade tree the gives you a small selection of upgrades allowing for a few different styles of gameplay for some replayability. Working on a unique mechanic that will allow you to control multiple vehicles at a given time, and a toggle mechanic something similar to Ikaruga.
Just combining good standard practices and throwing in a unique mechanic on top. Visually pleasing and not cheap or bland looking.
Currently creating assets. Doing it solo, teaching someone Blender to help but who knows if he will commit enough time to it.

I don't really have problem until stage 3 boss (Kurumi?), those tiles really hard for me.
Stage 4 Boss(Purple Marisa?) isn't that hard, however the stage usually cost me 1~2 lives.
I dies the most during the fifth stage. Can't really concentrate with the star background and that bullet evade before fighting boss.
