Origins and Legends are fun but have a lot of wonky areas with physics. The wall running is especially buggy and can lead to a lot of aggravating deaths if you don't account for it. Origins is also bogged down with auto scrollers that aren't even actual platforming and most of the level design isn't nearly as memorable as compared to say Tropical Freeze which has gorgeous fucking levels.

No fucking way. All the new mario platformers are pieces of shit with terrible platforming mechanics and no sense of weight to your character. The level design is so cheap and easy that they were able to release the level editor as a $60 game, which of course resulted in people making better levels than the piece of shit main line games provide.

it's even weak when compared to Banjo-Kazooie, a game it's supposed to be emulating. The platforming was almost non-existent, instead the levels are padded with Mario Party minigames and backtracking for a specific kong ability to unlock things for other kongs. I never understood what people see in this game.

Donkey Kong 3 - Was actually really unique and fun. But people complained it was too different.
Donkey Kong '94 - Best puzzle/platformer ever made. And my favorite DK game.
Mario vs Donkey Kong - An insult to DK '94 and one of the worst puzzle games ever.
Donkey Kong Country - Just couldn't get into it. The level design and bad hitboxes just annoyed me. Great music though.
Donkey Kong Country 2 and 3 - Didn't play because I didn't like the first game.

Needs more games. DK was close to trumping Zelda had Rare not left. Returns outselling Skyward Sword made me joyous, and I'm more of a Zelda fan than a Donkey Kong fan.

Because the swamp level was originally intended to be a city or where most of the kremling race resides according to concept art, being a crocodillian race and such. That's probobally why it's boss is a buy guy kremling.

In the last massive dong thread someone was posting all sorts of cool Rare shit and they had an image of the Kremling island overworld map. It was to show how they intended to fit at least eight worlds on it but I didn't save it. The swamp world was going to be a city but they decided to make most of it just a shipwreck.
There was originally going to be a plains/desert area above the swamp land, under KrazyKremland. This didn't make it into the finale design of course.
Then the giant kremling statue heads on the mountain was going to be a world called Mount Kremore.
There was also going to be a sky world instead of just a brair level after DK gets kidnapped.
DK64 is fun if you like collecting stuff and exploring places.

They could have kept Kremore in because they modeled it but they probobally would have filled it with levels we got in the keep world anyway, such an ice level and probobally another mineshaft level.
It could have had it's own theme though.
Some think the bramble levels were intended for the skyworld, but when they couldn't implement it they just through them randomly across worlds.
The desert world was probobally scrapped because it seemed boring.

They had already blown their load with bramble levels in prior worlds, and rare never likes to overuse a level theme asset because they made that mistake with Chimp Caverns in DKC, which had no unique world theme and just re-used from cave and mine shaft themes.
They could have introduced an on top of or inside the flying kroc themed level.
