Valve hasn't made a game since 2012, Valve hasn't made a single-player game in 4 years.

So what exactly does a company of 300+ people do all day? They can't all me fucking around with dead end trash like the Steambone or an Xbox controller knockoff.

They are probably trying to figure out how they are going to make the steam machine usable.
>>
The company has some dumb structure, where it lets the employees work on whatever they want, like how the fuck can that be good for workplace efficiency and project completion.
>>
>>319339963
They're all playing Half Life 3
>>
>>319339963
They simply don't need to make a game for the next 5 years, too much money flowing rim csgo and Dota, nothing else has to be done.
>>
They don't even need to make assets for stuff like tf2 or gun skins because they can get the community to do it for much cheaper (in that they don't have to shell out for actual artists on those projects who would demand things like more money or employee benefits) and sell it for more than they're worth. It's the perfect plan.

Basically:
1 business stuff with devs
2 researching for new features for their last game, which is steam, literally: cards and object market, rusky frauds...
3 constant security and cyberattacks countermeasures
4 feeding souls to the gaben
>>
they're all doing whatever they think will be most productive
atm hardware and VR gaming are next big focus areas, maybe they're making a vr specific game
>>
Funniest part to me is, they are literally hogging down some writer/artist talent to write dota lines/cosmetics and respond to customer support.
>>
>>319339963
Why when they can just hang out, do some bugfixing here and still get that micro transaction and steam sales money
>>
1. Steam
2. Steam Machines, Controllers, Links, VR
3. TF2, CSGO, Dota 2 (which alone has about 70 people on the team)
4. Source 2
5. L4D3
6. Unknown projects

Is this really difficult to understand?

Does it matter? They make more than 2m per employee. Thats way more than the most wealthy and well paid corporate law firms. Those make ~1.5m per hired attorney AT BEST. For comparison: Google makes ~1.1m per employee.

Seriously, does /v/ legitimately think Valve is full of employees who sit on their ass or is this a meme? They hire talented as fuck people
>>
>>319341862
HL3 as well (last we heard, it was still confirmed to be in development with no reduction in staff working on it).
>>
No joke,
Instead of making games, Gabe is literally investing in food to satisfy his insatiable hunger.

That's gaben damage control, nothing more
>>
>>319340909
Kek. That would mean we should have had HL3 years ago?

>multibillion dollar company
>Why does it have 300 employees wtf!

you're a stupid cunt lol
>>
I don't actually believe they have 300 employees anymore.
When that SteamVR lady got fired, she said there was a lot of walkouts and fighting amongst the team.
>>
>>319339963
They said a few years back they won't release any more single player games.
All their multiplayer games have been ports or remakes from IPs they bought (except for ricochet?).

Knowing this, what do you think they should be releasing next? There really isn't a popular multiplayer IP they can buy.
>>
>>319339963
Hl3 will be the valve's VR seller
they already released several source VR prototypes
>>

>they're not making single player games anymore
They literally never said this. Stop spreading this fucking meme.
