Trade in that Wiiu while you can boys
>>
>>319335010
what is going on?
>>
>>319335134
Some guy named ken found out his girlfriend got him a wiiu, he found the receipt, returned it, took the money from that and bought a ps4. When he got home he wrapped it up so his girlfriend wouldn't know what she got him.
>>
>>319332065
For the Wii U? Kinda missed the boat on that one. The Wii U was the perfect fit for it, with the second screen and all, but now Wii U is dead in the water and the Minecraft fad has pretty much died down.
>>
>>319335134
GF bought a wii u.
He hates nintendo and when he saw it he took it back to the shop to trade it in for a PS4. Then wrapped so this gf wouldnt notice.

This is legit autism. How much lack of self-awareness does it really take to bring a gift back before you even received it just because you don't like it?

No anon, YOU are the autist here. You have to have megaautisim to actually get rustled over somebody taking something expensive, well intentioned, and wrong and doing their bet to turn it into something great while also being sensitive to the other person. We're not talking some $10 knicknack, this shit costs real money. Nobody normal expects to be a perfect omniscient at getting the perfect gift for somebody else, PARTICULARLY if it's in a field they aren't familiar with (as is obviously the case here). That's why gift certificates and such are popular gifts: you might know somebody is "interested in INSERT_HOBBY_HERE" but not know the first thing about said hobby, so you don't know what would actually be good. So you find a good store that's related, it shows more thought then flat out cash but nobody normal would ever want somebody to take something pricey and then toss it in the closet. We want people we give genuine gifts to to be happy about it, duh.

A gift with a return is just one step back from that and also quite common when there is uncertainty. It can be more fun then a certificate since it's something physical and a nice big box and so on, but it's very normal to have a quiet little "here's the receipt too, if you need to do a swap because I got the wrong variety/color/size" alongside.

This dude didn't call his GF shit, he appreciated the thought, so much that he worked hard to make sure it was still a full fancy gift and everything. Now everybody is happy. Obviously his GF knows nothing about vidya but just picked out whatever, possibly influenced by someone biased, and she just wanted to get a nice gift. She doesn't care exactly what it is, it's enough that it's a quality console under the tree.

some autismo lied and said he returned a wii u his "gf" bought as a gift to buy a PS4.

Except his autistic ass was called out immediately, the bag was trashed, aka too old, and the wii U model was one that wasnt being sold anymore.

After that he autistically tried to keep forcing his dank meme thread, and >>319335010

I make high 5 figures (which is decent in my part of the country, I don't live in a city) and my personal investment account is now over $870k at age 32, so relatively speaking I'm doing decently. But I'd still consider anything $200+ to be significant for an entertainment-oriented Xmas present, definitely not something I'd want someone to take out and turn on once and then toss in the attic. I'm the vidya person so if I was buying this wouldn't come up, but my close family and GF are all super into biking which I'm not. It's trivial to spend hundreds on fancy wheels or seats or even pedals (frames themselves easily go into the thousands, they've got ones already) or other accessories like lights/GPS, all of which I know jack shit about and are intensely personal. I literally have spent hundreds on some of that gear as gifts, and I did research and tried to get something good, but I always, always included the receipt if it was a surprise (usual for family, sometimes with a significant other you'd just go and pick it out together and that'd be the present).

How could any of you be insulted by something like that? Nobody says "hurr you dumb fag you got the wheel made with the wrong titanium" or some shit, everyone appreciates it and if it's right uses it but if not they just exchange, I wouldn't want them spending hundreds of hours using the wrong tool just to assuage my fragile ego, if I had such a faggot thing.

Anon, there's no such thing as the wrong titanium. Atomic theory anon, atomic theory.
>>
Will the Wii U version of minecraft make use of the gamepad?
Fuck 'em if not.
>>
>>319339001
>Anon, there's no such thing as the wrong titanium
When normal people refer to something being made with "titanium" or "steel" they are talking about a broad class of possible alloys and construction methods anon. Commercially pure titanium has been used for stuff like implants but normally for actual mechanical applications it's alloyed with varying amounts of alpha or beta stabilizers (like aluminum/gallium/carbon or molybdenum/vanadium/iron respectively). Additionally thickness, process, and so on all change the final macro structural properties.

When it comes to sports it's fairly common to have fine variations and different options there. I do not care. I do not question it. Since I'm not an autist, I can recognize that it's the same to me as talking about CAS timings in DRAM would be to them. They do not understand or care about overclocking headroom or the quality of VRMs or whatever on a GPU, hell I'd be surprised if they'd even research raw decibel count. In both cases it's enough that somebody tried, it's expected that the expert will then replace it if necessary. It's either that or never buy a high end gift for an expert except for something outside of their own interest. Which sometimes is good but not as a universal.
>>
>>319339745
>Will the Wii U version of minecraft make use of the gamepad?
I'd be extremely surprised if it didn't as otherwise why even bother with the Wii U version at all? It'd just be an inferior port of the already inferior console versions

What I'm asking is, can you use it to manage your inventory/craft or allow for multiplayer without need of sharing the split screen?
Or will it just mirror the TV and be only slightly convenient.
>>
>>319342804
Yeah I get what you meant, it's not known yet though but it'd surprise me if they don't use it properly for inventory management as that's a really obvious feature they should bother with
