If that was a criteria the list would be completely blank, there hasn't been a JRPG in existence that wasn't in some way influenced by anime fag.
Every DQ game. DQ 1 and 2 are a bit rough because it was made before the whole JRPG became a thing but 3 without 1 and 2 feel like you are missing out on things. But after that they are all great.
FF1, 4, 6, 9 are really the only ones I feel are good.

I've played all of DQ, fucking loved those as they are pretty simplistic with no stupid gimicks, Radiant Historia, Bravely Default.
I just bought the Pokemon MD game on 3DS and also FF 3 for ds, never really been into FF but i've heard 3 is kinda simplistic like DQ.

If you have a DS with a GBA slot, then the first two Golden Suns are a no brainer.
I wish I could recommend them on 3ds but Nintendo thought it was be a genius idea to port all their gba games to fucking WiiU leaving the 3ds without any good ports.
Why not just port to both? I know the WiiU isn't selling as well as they wanted but no reason to completely neglect the 3ds in that department.
