Steam release of pic related caught me completely off guard. There was no marketing whatsoever..
As a big fan of the ps1 port for G-Darius I was instantly pumped, but after playing a few hours I'm still not convinced.
I'm missing the large scale the G bosses had and the great level design. The Musik lacks something too for me.
An I missing something?
I'm not sure. I have purchased it and haven't played it yet. I have yet to really read anything but general praise.
If you really do like G Darius (I would put it in my Top 10 shooter list), be sure to get to play the PS2 Taito collection which has it. The slowdown which cripples the PS1 port really is substantial and makes the game considerably easier. G Darius at proper speed is tough as hell.

If you can play it on two screens or on a big 4k TV.. Definitely digital pc.
The single player mode, which has separate progress from the multiplayer part, is 16/9 or whatever
But the MP mode is locked to the super wide-screen format, I can't imagine how that works out on the vita

My second monitor on potato PC is shit and uneven (using 17" CRT one cause more suitable one broke way back) so I doubt I'll get it on steam.

Seems fine to me. I never have taken the time to look up arcade footage or find a rom so I can't make first hand comparison offhand.
It's unfortunate, but also obvious, that there is no controller rumble so that's one small loss.
