I want to enjoy Blood Dragon, but I abhor the FPS genre.

Why?
I enjoyed it, played it for ~5h I think, didn't finish it but I enjoyed what I did play, was very aesthetically pleasing and decently funny. Gun play felt nice iirc, been two years since I played it (apparently).

I made a mistake of playing it on the highest difficulty.

Didn't think so before, but apparently some games actually get more fun with less challenge.
I liked all the references to Escape from NY/LA. Snake Plisskin is cool.
I didn't get into it unlike Far Cry 3 and 4.

I had fun playing on normal, I couldn't be too outrageous but enemies also weren't bullet sponges so I had a lot of fun sneaking around sniping fools with the bow.

I'm playing the new Wolfenstein right now, and it's kind of the same. The game gives you an option to dual wield guns (of which there are like 3 in the entire game though), but enemies use hitscan weapons, so you can possibly just facetank their fire and pulverize them with your superior firepower, you're still bound to take some damage.

Definiton of a meme game
Got it when it was around $10 on PS+, totally worth the amount paid for. Good for some laughs but can be played casually to completion over about 6 hours. I was itching for more after FC3 because I had just finished it so that helped quite a bit. Also way better than the shit stain that is FC4
