I had contact to 4J Studios in Scotland and they told me that they are currently working on a Wii U Edition that will be announced very soon. Sadly I can not tell you who said it to me because this person wants to stay anonymous.
However, Nintendo of America's Damon Baker said in a podcast with Nintendo World Report that they are going to have big announcement on Monday. Could it be Minecraft? I don't know, but I know for sure that Minecraft is actually coming to Wii U and they are going to announce it very soon. This could happen today and this could be what Baker meant.
