Every Nintendo console comes out in November of the year following the official reaveal. NX is not going to be revealed until July of 2016, which means it will most likely be out November 2017. Which is 5 years.

The WiiU sold terribly only ever doing well in Japan which is now falling off, very few games without Mario in the title sold well and they have barely anything else coming out for it now. They've also gained a lot of mistrust because of the short life span and the huge stretches of no games

It's not even debatable though, sony exclusives experiment with new ways to interact with the users all the time, they are constantly pushing the limits of their tech but the problem is, a lot of the exclusives sony has released this gen are pretty crappy although some are not entirely dismissible like Tearaway and Killzone. The reality is most of us know there are only 3 decent games for every 10 and only 1 that will be top of the line tier, that being Bloodborne.
The same shit applies to Nintendo as well but it arguably looks worse for their standpoint because their first party titles, yoshi, dk, toad and mario, use simple assets, they aren't blockbuster AAA games that require huge budgets to make yet Nintendo really hasn't done much or anything new with them. Nintendo, like the previous example has a few good quality first party titles as well regardless of their budget, and in my opinion the best that the wiiU console has for it at the moment is Xenoblade Chronicles X, it's good but it has its shortcoming due to hardware limitations and the babby localization of the game because Nitty is a children's toy company quite literally.
