I played mine onan actual PS2.You could find a modded one for cheap if you can't find a true original copy of the games. You'll have to burn DVDs though, so good luck finding those too.

Dunno about height issues but there's stories of pilots breaking several bones due to being hit by a wall of 800 mph wind upon ejecting at high speeds.
There was also a Navy pilot who died when her F-14 lost an engine after takeoff from a carrier and rolled just as she bailed, ejecting her into the water.

I looked up that incident. Apparently the RIO (the guy in the back, for those who don't know) was the one who pulled the handle, and he made it out alive. I wonder if he was fucked up from survivor's guilt after that.

That's just it. Everything looks so slow. Back then, their trailers were amazing (I especially loved Zero's). They didn't show gameplay on those either but they certainly got me excited.

It's been confirmed as in-engine, which is already a massive strike against the game.
I could understand them just porting in the fucking arkbird and modelling a quick space elevator, for an early development idea of what the game is going to be like.
Instead, they're obviously far enough in to actually have some kind of script, and we get something that's barely a teaser trailer. I couldn't be less excited at this point.

I'm happy the series is alive but I'm not sure about the end product. I was hoping for a little more style, especially keeping the ACZero trailer in mind which in my opinion is the gold standard for hype cinematic trailers.
I bet you could literally just re-cut the AC7 trailer with the audio from the Zero trailer and make it about 50 times more interesting.

New and used copies are like 5 bucks on Ebay, both for AC4 and 5. Zero is a little pricier, I guess it had a smaller print. If you're Europoor/Strayan like me you can get a Swap Magic somewhere and get the American versions of the games for that sweet, sweet 60hz speed. Or softmod your PS2 and skip every other step, I just never bothered with that.

The trailer told me all I need to know. I'm hyped. It's still so early in development that they couldn't even show off gameplay proper, but the ideas presented won me over already. Back in Strangereal? Check. In the future? Judging by the orbital elevator thing, check. Crazy weapons? Check. Dumb drama-drenched story? Judging by the suited girl hanging around and being the secondary focus in the trailer, check. The only way they could fuck it up is by ruining the gameplay somehow, and I doubt they're going back to anything AH introduced.
