Nah, 5's gameplay was still good because it continued on where MGS 4 act 1 & 2 left off. Although MGS 4 actually had random peds you could kill plus opposing armies. MGS V only had hostiles.

MP3's not pure action. You waste most of your time watching through unskippable cutscenes. The gameplay is damn good for the 5 minutes that you get to play before a new cutscene shows up. MP3 is easily the second best turd person shooter after MGS4 & 5 or at least it would've been if it didn't have so many cutscenes. At least you could skip MGS4's cutscenes, and the gameplay portions were usually longer than 5 minutes..

I'd honestly say that honor goes to Max Payne 3 or Vanquish.
Vanquish is great fun largely because of the speed and lethality of the combat, MP3 has obscenely tight and well tuned controls and gameplay.
