>All told, a $50 PlayStation Plus subscription in 2015 returned $1,053.36 in games to a subscriber who had all three platforms. This monetary figure counts the same title on multiple platforms only once. (For example, a game on both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 that costs $20 on each platform counts only $20 toward this total, not $40.) The prices are for the digital version of the game on the PlayStation Store as of yesterday.
>PlayStation Plus still delivered triple-A hits that were worth it on their own, likeDishonoredandMass Effect 2.Itintroduced subscribers to some beautiful and acclaimed indie games
How can anyone say that PSN+ is not a fucking amazing deal?
Anything you have to pay for isn't "Free". They're also valuing these games at their full retail price, long after their initial release.
>free
every time
>>319237237
You don't get to keep the games, you're doing little more than renting them. You could just buy the games and have them for more than a month on steam.
>>319237237
Wait PS+ doesn't let you keep the games?
I dont get to keep my games when I stop subscription but on xbox I do. Most of the games on ps4 are indie games, where as xbox game with gold theyre older 60 titles. I havent even gotten an xbox one but i know my ps4 is a steaming pile of no games. Im just glad the controllers better, and MS were idiots on launch to have a kinect included bundle. wish they didnt, woulda been an xbro with actually fun free games that I can acrually keep
>>319237706
No, once your sub runs out, you can't play those games.
>>319237237
Oh boy, 1000$ of indieshit!
>>319237706
Nope, even fucking Xbox Live Gold lets you keep your games and play them when your subscription runs out.
>>319237907
But if you resub do you get them back? Or is that it, lost forever?
>>319237706
Changes monthly, you lose them at the end of the month. Then you get new titles to choose from
Half or more of these PS Plus games are indie trash that nobody plays.
>>319238005
Re sub and u get em back
>>319237237
>90% of the games were indie shit that nobody wanted
>The other 10% were ancient good games that everyone had already bought
>>319238025
Wait I thought you kept them til ur sub runs out, not until they change.
>>319238005
you get them back
>>319238205
You do, he's wrong.
So is it safe to say that when it comes to the games with subscriptions deal that Xbox Live is the better choice when compared to PS+
I bought a PS4 a few days ago and PS+ with it (due to getting a promotional code from Amazon).
It was 30 pounds for a 12 month subscription. I earn that much in 3 hours of working. Why wouldn't i buy it? The Vita games i got from it before were pretty good, too, like getting Binding of Isaac on release date.
You keep your games if you dont sub.
On top of that, I bet the same people who parrot the
>free
meme are the same faggots who use steam.
>>319238640
I guess you wouldn't buy it if you didn't want it.
>pay monthly
>receive "free" shovelware
thanks sony
>free
AHHAHAHAHA
>>319238554
Live Gold gives better games so yeah.
Daily reminder that Xbox > Playstation
Daily reminder that PS+ games have mostly been utter shit for years and that you're only renting them, that you lose the games as soon as you stop subscribing to PS+
Daily reminder that Xbox Live has been giving out lots of great games and that you actually own the games, it's not a temporary rental based on circumstance.
>>319238979
Awesome sauce.
>>319237237
>Free
lmao
>>319237237
They're not free if you have to pay for them. If you stop paying for PS+, all your games disappear.
>walk down to the gas station
>pay $2 for some free candy
I like my PS4, but PS+ is fucking T R A S H. I got five times as much good stuff "free" on my xbox 360 and they had the courtesy to let me actually have the games instead of renting them.
It's apalling that they still won't give away any half-decent AAA games for fucking PS3, even in 2015 they only give shit you can buy for ten bucks.
>>319237237
Is polygon straight up advertising for sony?
>>319237237
I have a ps4 and I like sony consoles but you do know you're paying for the online services right?
It's not free, it's a little bonus.
None of the games they give away for free interest me unfortunately.
>>319238758
No you don't. Any time I have no money in the bank when PS+ tries to go through I get locked out of "my" games. Luckily there aren't any I actually want to play anyway.
>>319237237
It's not a good deal because it used to be optional for online play. If it was such a good deal they wouldn't need to lock key features behind it.
When are they having another $1 flash sale on the Playstation Store?
>>319237237
>Pay monthly, get "free" videogames.
>Subscription runs out and the videogames get taken away.
No one can defend this.
You don't own a single fucking game on the ps4 or xbuck$.
It's pretty objectively a good deal if you just want a bunch of games to play.
Personally I don't subscribe to it because I already have more games than I have time to play, and they're games I actually wanted enough to buy. For me PS+ is just a bunch of games that I didn't really want and will probably never play.
>>319239179
it's different because the games are a bonus with PS+ so it is free
>free
we've been over this before
>>319239402
Valve doesn't ever give anything away though
>>319237237
$1,000 worth of shitty half-assed retro indie platformers that should be free on newgrounds that is.
Also, it's not free when you have to pay for it.
>>319239684
I'm not defending Steam either. Fuck Steam and fuck game developers for taking away your rights to own videogames.
>>319239031
>you actually own the games
*licences that can be taken away at any time
even if you have a physical copy
you don't 'own' a game unless you wrote it yourself, or it's on a free licence
>>319239803
stallman pls go
>$1000 of years old stale indie games
What pricing metric were they using? Undiscounted release price?
>>319237237
Because it's not free, anon. You don't get those games unless you pay a subscription fee. You don't get those games unless you pay.
>>319237237
And the majority was indie trash. Not fucking worth it.
>>319239031
>it's not a temporary rental based on circumstance
Flat out lie. My Gold ran out today and those "free" games are locked. Fuck you.
PS+ had a pretty shit year in terms of "free" games, to be honest. This month sucks major dick in particular, last month was also shit.
It was expected once PS+ became mandatory for online, to be honest. Sony has your PS+ games hostage now and the drones are eating up the mandatory subs.
And Games with Gold requires a sub to play the "free" Xbone games, 360 games stay owned forever (which means you get to play them on the Xbone for free forever as well).
>>319240927
See >>319241291
>>319240752
This.
>>319238979
Depends on the month. GWG has had a few dud months this year. This month is one of the best in a while.
>>319238005
Don´t worry, Sony holds them hostage until you resub, just don´t wait too long...
>>319241560
I can't actually recall when I was happy for a GWG other than Viva Piñata: TiP.
It's always indie stuff or games that have done horrible in terms of sales for obvious reasons.
I guess I can't blame them for not putting out really good games, but it's all so lackluster.
>>319242270
This month is decent. Van Helsing is indie but a solid Diablo clone (if you don't have a gaming PC), Thi4f is okay (though we already got the 360 version in another month).
Castlestorm is shit because we got the Xbone version already, but Sacred 3 and Operation Flashpoint are good and they're both BC on the Xbone.
They can definitely do better though. I'm still waiting for Lococycle or Dead Rising 3.
OH BOY, RETAIL GAMES FOR "FREE" TWO YEARS AFTER THEIR RELEASE!!!Holy fuck, I wouldn't mind too much if they were single player games, and not multiplayer games with dead online
>>319237237
>free
This is what gaffers actually believe.
