Mass Effect 2
Honestly the suicide mission blew me away at the time. No idea why. Played it again a few years later and it was pretty lackluster.
I think it was because I went in with a certain mind set and fucked some things up along the way. Tali and Mordin died, and I had attached to those two characters for some reason. Shit felt epic
Golden Sun, Dark Souls and/or Thief 1/2.
All of these said games had (and still do) some incredible magic for me.
They made me feel like I was on an actual adventure and where everything just blended in perfectly.

Dark Souls definitely. It was really refreshing ina lot of ways in the face of an ultra casualized generation of games. My friend also ruined some surprises for me, which I have mixed feelings about.
Persona 4, but I'd like to start out with Golden instead of vanilla.
Sonic Adventure

Why would you torture yourself?
>>319234561
Because then I could play Golden without wishing I could play Vanilla.

God I remember finding out about it and showing all my friends. All had fresh accounts and went through tutorial island together.
So much bullshit and fun had in that game. It will never be the same

Runescape was probably the best online vidya experience I have ever had in any game ever, holy shit the feeling of exploring your first MMO is special.

The one people are afraid to say:
World of Warcraft.
To enjoy those middle-aughts years again...
>11 years since WoW was released
>WoW was released 10 years after Warcraft I: Orcs and Humans
Grand Theft Auto IV
Going from San Andreas to IV and experiencing the realistic physics engine and body ragdolls was amazing. I spent days just messing around with it before playing more of the story.

>be absolutely astounded a ton of people can play with each other at the same time
>walk around and fight stuff, die and lose everything, after a while get full bronze armor
>the rest of the year and 6th grade, play the shit out of it with friends. Exploring wildy, getting full rune, etc.
>transition to maplestory around 2006/2007 (I believe that was when GMS came out of beta).
>a whole another experience, henny, lith harbor, ellina, PQs, making a guild when it came out

EarthBound. I wish I could walk into it the same way I did before. Having only heard of it through Smash because I played as Ness, walking into a used store, picking up the cart and manual for $20, and just playing it completely blind.
I've been playing through Dragon Quest and Undertale lately, and they can ALMOST kind of give me that feeling, but nothing beats the slightly quirky, heart-on-their sleeves world that Itoi built.
>>319233645
Man, this is probably what got me into MMOs in the first place.
too bad jagex fucked up alot after 6/6/06. if it wasn't for all the changes being made like dedicated server bullshit I'd still be playing.

Zelda Majora's Mask
So many hidden little neat things and feels and such a quality well told tight story albeit not incredibly deep
