I for one never had a chance to play the first one since I was late to the console game. It would be wonderful if it came to the PS4 but I didn't think from the trailer that they were linked in a way that would be troublesome.
What are you most looking forward to?
I hope we get to play as the king sometimes if not 90% of the time. The whole character development of a weak, cute main character growing into a strong one is one of my favorites.

Gameplay is literally the worst part of the original.
It's basically a real time pokemon game, but the AI is fucking awful 100% of the time, and you don't even get a defend command until halfway through the game.
However, the characters are entertaining, Shadar is an ever-looming threat ofDESPAIR, and it has that undeniable Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli charm to it.
I'd recommend it personally, but it's not for everyone.

The first one is really disappointing. The AI is suicidal, the pokemon system is annoying, there's very little to explore of the world outside of main quests, and the game doesn't really offer you much in the way of content outside what you already have experienced in the first hour besides changes in locale. Even the Ghibli amalgamation setting is underused. They're there for you to look at as pretty backdrops but they don't change how you explore the on rails world.
