Not necessarily but I've seen myself/lookalike probably 1000 times now. Not talking about micro transaction cosmetic shit. I'm playing the beta and will play release but it's a textbook themepark game with main story quests and side quests. You go to a map, do 10 quests which 90% are fetch/kill mobs/mini boss quests and move on to the next map. Grinding doesn't exist because it's much more effective to do quests and use exp cards, there like two high mob density maps in the whole game.

I don't want to sound like those muh RO fags but I like that every class uses the same costume. At rank 10 you will have like 6 different costumes to choose from and you will be able to get different hair styles/colors and hats.

To this day I still don't know how they did it.

Most maps have literally nothing to do except kill monsters, everything else was just eyecandy, yet I can remember almost every detail of all those maps and how much I loved them.

Which is even more suprising today taking into account that IMC tried to make something as good as that and failed so fantastically hard that it's obvious they have no idea how to do shit and that RO was just a beautiful accident.

Depend on your group comp, so you can't say there's a single strongest mob

Strongest ones would be Bio3/4 MvP spawns, Satan Morroc (>>318808059), Valkyrie Randgris, Ifrit, Entweihen Crothen

Few other contenders like Naght Sieger or Nidhogg but I don't think they're really up there, you can solo everything on RO if you're sufficiently geared so I just listed the ones that are harder to solo

Up until a little over a week ago, fucking everything but the zombie train was broken (and even the defense attribute on that was broken).

Axe Mechanic is pretty terrible. And trust me on this, because I do have a level 150 MvP Mechanic. They're basically a shitter MvP Royal Guard, since you do the same stuff a Royal Guard does, only worse.

That said if you don't care and still want to stick to Mechanic because they're cooler than faggy ass chicken-riding pussies, well then go for it. Just be warned: don't overlook the giant robot skills just because you want to be an MvP Mech. On some situations using Arm Cannon and Knuckle Boost is MUCH, MUCH stronger than HSCR.

That's because 1) Arm Cannon applies elemental damage twice, basically doubling it's damage on anything weak to Holy, Shadow or Ghost. If you have bragi support then you're suddenly on par with Geneticists.
and 2) Knuckle Boost can't miss, so even though it's slower than HSCR (hits a bit harder tho) it's your only option for Agi Up MvPs since you ain't hitting those with HSCR

Plus when Verus Mech gear comes along HSCR will basically be abandoned because holy shit see pic

They removed the bullet hell phase originally in kcbt because it sucked ass, lagged people to shit, and just made bosses easy as fuck to kill because they'd stand around nothing at certain hp thresholds just doing it, and it doesn't hit you if you stand on them.

So they removed it.
Then they for some reason removed part of it in the iCBT but not the whole thing, leading to when bosses try to use certain, removed patterns, the game crashes.

The genre is dead because of too many casuals playing it.
Quest to level kills the freedom older MMOs used to have, you know where to go just because the game tells you where to go. You don't explore, you don't have many options where to lvl. Grinding is almost completely unnecesary except for wanting to reach that quest lvl, just to quest again.
Also shit maps, shit stupid system that doesn't allow you to kill monster with "high" difference lvl (Not even that high in a game with 200+ levels).
If you think you should never grind in an MMO, then why do you ask for a new Ragnarok? Did you all forget how much grinding RO had? Or do you always played private servers with x2000 rates?
People bitch about grinding because they see how shit is in current MMOs, but it used to be well balanced, grinding in party used to be fun. Now it's you alone spamming AoE against 20 mobs all the time. And this is not a ToS problem, it's happening to every new MMO out there.
Also something maybe some others doesn't care, but lacking of a good PvP/PK system kills the game fast when there are not even good bosses in the game.

Yeah Questing is pretty much another way of modern day MMO handholding. Modern MMO players have no idea what the fuck to do if they ran out of quests to do. They can't wrap their heads around the concept of grinding. "Grind? Thats fucking boring, whats the point?" etc. I'm not saying that all MMOs should be grindfests, but it should give the player enough breathing space to choose the way he wants to level rather than following the quest marker on the map everyone else is.

one thing i noticed in RO

dungeons that have "attunement" quests are fucking barren and nobody grinds in it

not to mention that the cards that drop from it are absurdly expensive

Rachel's Sanctuary and Nameless Island were (and still are in Renewal even) some of the most popular grinding/farming spots in the game (because they were indeed fucking great), and both have prerequisites for unlocking their entrance.

Themeparks have always been and will always be shit, even if the only other option is to grind like an autist.

it was a bugged clusterfuck but I still enjoyed it although I didn't have much time to play

as the icbt ends korea is getting rank 7 classes and alternate zones to level through (so now 2 paths to make leveling alts less boring although I don't know if the new path ends at like 100+ or something)

So basically the relationship is the same as most eastern games playing the 6 month old version hopefully we aren't so far behind once the game actually release

Scout's barrel hiding doesn't end when it stops taking effect. Who one earth thought it was a good idea to make it that way? There's no way to tell how many attacks you can block unless you count them yourself and even if you dodge it counts as getting hit. At some point in time you're just stuck taking damage and the animation to end the skill takes so long that you're probably going to get stun locked trying to escape.

Quarrel Shooter is a pain too. Their skills are terrible, they get fucked over harder than any other class from the stupid overheat system, because you actually want to space out pavise(the shield) and teardown, and they have tons of aggro stealing spells but the shield rarely works to block attacks.

The stupidest thing is that so many of their skills are do-overs of the base archer's skills. QS3 gets the spell quick step should've been, QS2 gets a multi-shot that you can charge while moving and Scout 3 gets oblique shot++ that his 3 targets instead of 2.

Nothing wrong with do-over skills. That just means more skills to put in your rotation. That's 100% intentional and fits in with the Archer's design.
