In their defense, the whole point of the beta for this game is to test out their new netcode, so random matchmaking will force the users to connect to as many different people in different regions as possible, so they can identify the flaws.
If they allowed isolated and closed lobbies, it's defeating the purpose of finding out what to fix.
It's a beta after all, not a demo.

It's a beta to test netcode. Hopefully shit won't be ass come launch, so I'd rather test it now while getting a chance to warm-up to the cast/systems than deal with that shit early next year
