Kojima's way of trying to "praise" the player in this game was so hamfisted and ass backwards. Big Boss isn't the person you're supposed to use as a projection of empowerment and praise. It's always been Snake, specifically Solid Snake, who was painted as the superior person.

Kojima seems to have lost sight with where this series was going post 3. Ever since the boss was a character he turned big boss into some Mary Sue Jr. That is just an extension of her character. I get he's trying to do the perception thing where BB has his reasons and isn't pure evil and is following his ideals because evil America. But at this point that's pretty much muddled this story up so much that it all just looks terribly written. Snake should be who he aspires to associate the character with, not BB. I genuinely compare Kojima to George Lucas, it seems like he drank his own kool aid a bit and thought he could write some super deep shit, but it all ends up coming out as in this very shallow hamfisted way that only a high school kid could do.

Even if we got episode 51 that explains nothing regarding why venom finally loses it. Yeah he ended up trying to use a nuke as deterrence after originally trying to disarm them all but Outer Heaven didn't really seem to be anything more than a place for soldiers to be soldiers
