Since 2012. Kickstarter happened in mid-2013 and it was supposed to release in 2014.

Game is taking a while but they are still going. The image says they are in beta but I only backed to get the game so no idea if it is any good. If you want more constant updates then follow their twitter which is pretty active

I've still only seen the first two levels they released but they were horribly designed, and movement wasn't fun. At least for the one level where they didn't take away your movement with no explanation.

It won't. It's being developed by experienced professionals who announced they were making the game even before making a kickstarter. They only created one because the fan reaction was so positive they wanted to expand the scope of the game.
