Brad did plenty wrong. He meant the best, but all of his attempts at being nice wound up wasted on the wrong people, and the only times he was outright correct was when he was on a bloody massacre, which is wrong conceptually.
In fact Buddy learned that this was the only way to live, so she followed his footsteps and continued the same warpath that Brad had led her to believe was necessary.
