South Park had issues with soccer mom's and stuff complain to CC, especially around the time the movie was released. But the creators didn't give a shit and the money was too good for CC to make them stop, so it kept on.
Literally all game devs have to do to release games that give them sjw shit...is release them. People can cry and scream all they want, but if there's nothing illegal in the game, it can be released that way no problem. Most companies are just scared of social media backlash so they try to appease the complainers. Look at the whole DoAX3 boogaloo with palyasia... all these people complaining about the conduct of their twitter person and threatens to do all manner of shit, and playasia supports their guy and nothing actually happens. The company just supported their guy. Obviously it's in PA'S interest to let the controversy infold, but a dev or a publisher could do the exact see thing: release a game, eat some criticism and release their product.
