Not really, where else would they get this big of a budget and time allowance. Takahashi is notorious for taking long amounts of time(one reason why Xenogears got cut short). Nintendo is very generous in giving him the time and money he needs to make the exact game he wants. Something Square and Bamco(to some extent) had troubles with.
