Honestly just adopt a lot of the elements that MKX has and keep traditional blocking. Make sure that interactables are less absurd like they were in MKX, plenty of stages and more villains that weren't ripped from Batman's rouges gallery.
Ideally I'd like for NRS to move away from combo strings that they love so much but that's never going to happen.

They used Doomsday because they need an action-y beat-em-up scene to top the last movie. IMO it would've been better off just focusing on the Batman/Superman vigilante philosophy. The best part about Lex as a villain has been his ideology against Superman's. He can punch anything to death and is a living god, so what is the best way to defeat him? With words and ideas. Turn the people against him and he has nothing. Throwing Doomsday into the mix is just Snyder going "not enough action, it'll never sell." Should have never included him in the first place. Wonder Woman and Aquaman just muddle things further.

I don't get the bitching about the DOA dlc. It's all cosmetic shit. When you go into a clothing store you don't buy everything that fits you. You buy the few things you like and don't touch the rest. The same thing applies to the costume dlc. There's a great variety to choose from and unless you have some kind of crazy OCD you don't need to buy it all. I think I spent maybe $10 total on DLC for the game in the however many years that it launched. Self control isn't hard.
