There are still a few bugs that could stand to be fixed, a few characters that are arguably not as good as they could be, and several new characters in development that many were pretty excited for, and one of the dev memebrs mentioned wanting to fill every extra skin slot with a costume of some sort. The game definitely still has lots of room to grow, even if it's still really fucking good as it is.

N64 wasn't as huge a disaster as everyone on /v/ makes it out to be, we got shit like Banjo Kazooie, Mischief Makers, Starfox 64, Perfect Dark, etc. Even GCN had some things that made it completely worthwhile like TTYD, Metroid Prime, F-Zero GX.

The engine is just shit like that.
Now I'm no programmer, but I believe it's mainly because projectiles are saved in character specific files and that means a reflected projectile would be the game trying to send back something it doesn't have.
People are clever and found workarounds though.
A few characters have moves that create a projectile hitbox to cancel out a projectile and trigger an attack that sends a projectile back.

He's definitely in a very good state. There's a couple things that aren't quite finished (Wall-climbing with side special is iffy, down-smash works odd near ledges and in certain other scenarios, side/down taunts are Sonic's), but he's GOOD.
