Papyrus was my favorite for the reverse reason, he was never anything BUT sincere in his good-heartedness. Even in Genocide when you fucking murder him.

Flowey's whole thing isn't "SO EVIL", his whole thing is "kill or be killed". It isn't about destroying everything. It's about pushing his perverted sentiment on the world. He doesn't want to destroy everything, he wants everyone else to destroy everything.
His other schtick is that he's a fucking flower. The few characters who know about him either think he's harmless or don't know he's alive. Flowers normally aren't psychopathic nutcases. And the whole thing with him actually being Asriel. The only final boss who even resembled Giygas was Photoshop Flowey. Asriel was a parody of the typical Final Fantasy villain and Sans is just a really smart and powerful skeleton.
