This man single handedly destroyed more lives by proxy than Hitler & Stalin combined. The blood from those Koreans dying in internet cafes are on his hands. gg nr.
>thread is dead about the person who made the hobby of the board come alive

Good job guys

A great man. Game informer did an interview with him a few months ago, he was disappointed because he wouldn't live to see where video games develop.

I wonder how he felt? Must be very overwhelming to be the creator of an industry, a big industry at that. To see how games evolved from something so simple to the point that we now have games simulating space flight, or economies and photorealistic graphics.
Kinda wish I was him.

Ralph Baer didn't actually invent videogames. The first videogame was a ping-pong game "Tennis for two" created for a laboratory oscilloscope in 1958 by physicist William Higinbotham.
Baer was the first to suggest using a television, I believe, and he did do a lot of work but he wasn't really the first.

>tfw you live 3 miles away from Brookhaven Labs
That place is crazy weird. Between This, Hadron Colliders, and the whole alien crash conspiracy in the 90s.I remember my friend got really pissed during an argument with me about Mechs. I said a walking mecha like REX or ones seen in Mech Warrior would be more efficient that bipedal human-shaped mechs seen in Pacific Rim and Evangelion, because the latter would literally rip themselves apart from inertia.
He called up Brookhaven Labs and asked to speak with a fucking structural engineer to get a professional opinionThe engineer agreed with me
