You have to play pretty much the whole core game solo for each character you want to use in order to play them in multiplayer anyway. It's pretty good even without friends, if slightly less story driven than Muramasa and Odin Sphere.

Just as a follow up, that's pretty much all I got for my Vita and it was more than worth a purchase it's just such a fucking shame Sony dropped the console a second after it came out and gave it literally no support after the first rush when it comes to games.
The hardware is amazing compared to all other handhelds.
But hey, here is hoping that in two years or so we will have a homebrew OS and we can emulate the shit out of it

Mobile "gamers" are not willing to spend 30-50€ on a game and people will always invest money in gaming peripherals for a better experience.
As long as phones don't drastically change their battery time, someone like Nintendo creates a universal gamepad that everyone agrees to adept with, develop for and pushes it out on the market really agressively it won't be dead.
I'm willing to buy an extra device that banks in quite big just get a better experience when playing on a train.

Yes, but that was my point. It needs a big developer to successfully publish new technology. It's the same with 4k resolution TV's, if their isn't huge marketing behind it no one will buy it and without at least equal peripherals of the current handheld consoles on phones a switch from handheld to completely mobile gaming simply will not succeed, it'll almost completely die out instead and be replaced by microtransaction based mobile flash games.
