You mean 1.2.X or 1.5? 1.5 had the new engine as well, so I doubt 2.0 will run any better. You'd have to be on a potato though, it's smooth as butter on most machines.

Technically yes, but it'll suck. 360 gamepad is doable if you bind the left/right bumpers as shift states in the controls menu, effectively tripling your button count.

You we're probably playing on the old engine, which was just an update on the LOMAC engine from 2003. In version 1.5 (which came out a couple months ago) they integrated a new engine which looks better and runs literally twice as good. A few reports even got triple the FPS.

Depends on how dedicated you are and how much you earn. If you're good with electronics, I heard it's relatively simple to make your own track. I'm getting a pre-made headtracking set from trackhat because I'm piss poor with DIY activities. Hopefully it isn't completely shit.
