SF was more of a return to form than anything else.
3 killed the series by trying to integrate GTA's on-foot combat and failing miserably, Parallel Lines tried to revive the series but failed to do that, and by the time SF came out nobody cared about Driver anymore.
It was a fantastic game though, loads of fun cars and a stellar soundtrack.
Fuck you. Driver:SF was a fun game. Too bad Ubi wont make another one.

Actually, SF was a major improvment over the avergae Parallel Lines and the mediocre DRV3R.
SF features better physics than most arcade race games. It only lacks Manual gear.

I don't know how well Parallel Lines sold, and I assume it probably bombed, but I loved it and even replayed it recently and was surprised at how well it aged. The combat is awful but the driving was great, and I'd honestly say the vehicle handling is on par with GTA V's which is impressive to me.
I feel like it's one of those games that I'm always going to be the only person to defend.
