It's really a combo of things. The music, while good, definitely lacked in some areas or suffered from a distinct lack of inspiration (like that fucking godawful castle dungeon theme)
Then there's the story which is mostly nonexistent and makes no sense when it's there (NEEDS YOUR LIFE out of fucking nowhere)
And finally the repeated levels, some of which were literal hallways, and the weapons which were either shit or all had the same moveset (no arcing greatswords or whips or even fist weapons or martial arts)
Some of the boss designs were fucking sick though. That fish bitch was a good fight as was that fucking powerwalking super saiyan frankenstein.
