I like shotguns.
In games where the majority of combat is done at medium-long range you can't really get away with using them though, since shotguns in most video games might as well be melee weapons. In those games I'll probably just use some sort of assault rifle or LMG.
I also have a thing for handguns, especially revolvers.

Pretty much anything single-shot. I find them easier to control and generally more useful. When burst and automatic weapons are the most powerful, I tend to perform very poorly because I do not enjoy using them. In games where shotguns, rifles, and handguns excel I tend to excel as well. I like TF2.
