Like, Undertale is okay, but it's way too short. You get more out of the gameplay by not fighting, but even that begins a routine of figuring out the correct ACT for different monsters, most of which are totally obvious.
2 of the 3 final bosses you can't even lose to, and the one you can takes a dragged out playthrough of random encounters to get to, all for a single rewarding boss.
The only thing I can still look back fondly upon is the music.

It made me smile and it brought a tear to my eye which is more than any game has done for me nowadays. I usually play games with a poker face and maybe a smirk once in while. Undertale actually made me guffaw out loud. The first example being the shop keepers. I tried to sell them some stuff and instead of a typical rpg where they buy useless crap, they told me they weren't buying it. It took me off guard.

I thought the music was really good, especially since every boss got their own track.
Sometimes the jokes dragged on too long but it was still pretty funny. A lot of the humor comes from playing /vr/ era games though -- for instance I doubt that younger players would get the reference when Metaton does the opera house bit from FF6.
The bullet hell gameplay was pretty inspired and every boss found a way to mix it up. If you are a hardcore Touhou weeb its way to easy but I thought it hit a good balance in the pacifist run (while genocide got the fuck your shit up fights for those that wanted a challenge).
The game was a little too short but that's fine with the multiple paths and all. I would rather have a solid 6 hours than a boring crappy 40 hour jrpg pantie questathon.

I don't like most turn-based RPGs in which the battles devolve into "spam your strongest attack while very occasionally healing." The rpg battle system was neat and the whole game has the charm of a (mostly) one-man show. I have always felt that turning points in the story being decided by regular gameplay is far more suited for video games than retard A or B prompts/dialog choices. The frequent subversion of its own mechanics was also pretty cool.
